Privacy Policy

TEPCO i-Frontiers, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Our Company") has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "the Policy") regarding the handling of user information including personal information related to users of the services provided by Our Company (hereinafter referred to as "the Service"). The Policy shall apply to the Service provided by Our Company, together with the term of use of the Service provided by Our Company and other related rules.

1. Compliance with Relevant Laws, Regulations, Guidelines, etc.

Our Company will comply with the Personal Information Protection Act and other laws and regulations, as well as the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Commission and other guidelines, and handle personal data in a proper manner.

2. User Information to be Collected

In the Policy, "user information" means information pertaining to the identification of users, access history on communication services, and other information generated or accumulated related to users or their devices, which Our Company acquires based on the Policy. User information acquired by Our Company under the Service will be as follows, depending on the method of acquisition.

(1) Information acquired directly from users
Our Company acquires the following information before or during the use of the Service by users.

・ Profile information such as name, date of birth, gender, occupation, etc.
・ Contact information such as e-mail address, telephone number, address, etc.
・ History of the use of the Service
・ Information entered or transmitted by users through input forms and other methods determined by Our Company

(2) Information acquired through collaboration with an external service when users use the Service
Our Company will acquire the following information from the external service when users permit collaboration with an external service in using the Service.

・IDs used by users in the external service
・Other information that users have permitted the collaborated party to disclose according to its privacy settings of the external service

(3) Technical information when accessing the Service
Our Company will acquire the following information when users access the Service.

・Information regarding types of devices, device identifiers, types of web browsers, Referrers, IP address, Cookies, other advertising identifiers, and server access logs

(4) Information acquired based on the users' individual consents
Our Company will acquire the following information when Our Company obtains individual consents from users.

3. Purpose of Use

Our Company will use the acquired user information for the following purposes.

(1) Smooth operation and provision of the Service
(2) Identification and user authentication
(3) Maintenance, enhancement, quality improvement and upgrade of the Service
(4) Measurement of users’ traffic and access
(5) Delivery of advertisements and measurement of their effectiveness
(6) Providing information on products and services regarding the Service
(7) Providing information on products and services offered by business operators which we collaborate with regarding the Service
(8) Marketing research and other research regarding the Service
(9) Responding to inquiries from users and providing after-sales service to users
(10) Promotional activities such as providing advertisements, announcing campaigns, regarding the Service
(11) Responding to violations of Our Company's terms, policies, etc. regarding the Service
(12) Notifying important matters such as changes to the terms regarding the Service
(13) Conducting questionnaires regarding the businesses of group companies of Our Company, improving and developing products and services, delivering advertisements and promotional materials and solicitation regarding products and services, and conducting other related activities
(14) Dispatchment of advertisements and promotional materials and solicitation regarding products and services related to the businesses of affiliated companies, and conducting other related activities
(15) Other purposes specified in the Service

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Our Company will not provide personal information among user information to a third party without a prior consent of user. However, personal information may be provided to a third party in the following cases.

(1) When Our Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use
(2) When personal information is provided as a result of the business succession due to merger or other reasons
(3) When personal information is provided to an operating company of an external service for collaboration with the external service or for authentication by using the external service
(4) When it is necessary for us to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by the aforementioned in executing affairs prescribed by laws, and obtaining the user's consent may impede the execution of such affairs
(5) When personal information is provided to the parties listed within the scope of joint users of personal information in Item 5 below

5. Joint Use of Personal Information

Our Company will jointly use personal information among user information as in a manner described hereunder.

(2) Scope of joint users
　Group companies of TEPCO i-Frontiers, Inc.
(3) Purposes of joint users
　To provide information on services of the group companies
　Within the scope of the purposes of use described in Item 3 above

6. Security Control Measures

Our Company will take necessary and appropriate security control measures for the control of personal data, including the prevention of leakage, loss, or damage of personal data. In addition, Our Company will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over our employees and contractors (including subcontractors, etc.) who handle personal data. The security control measures for personal data are specifically stipulated separately in the “Rules for Handling Personal Information, etc.”, main contents of which are as follows.

・In order to ensure the proper handling of personal data, Our Company has formulated the Policy regarding “Compliance with Relevant Laws, Regulations, Guidelines, etc.” and “Contact for Inquiries and Complaints”.

・For each stage of acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion/disposal, etc., “Rules for Handling Personal Information, etc.” have been formulated, regarding handling methods, responsible persons/persons in charge, their duties, etc.

・In addition to appointing a person responsible for handling of personal data, Our Company has clarified the scope of employees who handle personal data and personal data handled by such employees, and established a system for reporting and contracting to the person responsible for handling personal data in the event that a violation or an indication of a violation of the Personal Information Protection Act or the Rules for Handling Personal Information, etc. is detected.
・Our Company conducts regular self-inspections of the status of handling of personal data, separately from audits by other departments or a third party.

・Our Company conducts regular training to employees about points of consider regarding the handling of personal data.
・Matters regarding the confidentiality of personal data are stipulated in the rules of employment.

・In areas where personal data is handled, Our Company has implemented access control for employees, restrict equipment etc. they may bring into the areas and takes measures to prevent unauthorized persons from viewing personal data.
・Our Company takes measures to prevent theft or loss of equipment, electronic media, documents etc. which are used for handling of personal data, as well as measures to prevent personal data from being easily identified when such equipment, electronic media, etc. are carried, including when they are moved within a business site.

・Our Company has implemented access control and limits the scope of employees in charge and personal information database, etc. to be handled.
・Our Company has introduced a scheme to protect information systems handling personal data from unauthorized external access or unauthorized software.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information and Notification of the Purpose of Use of Personal Information

If Our Company is requested by a user to disclose personal information or notify purpose of use of personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, Our Company will, after confirming that the request is made by the user himself/herself, disclose the information to the user without delay (if the relevant personal information does not exist, Our Company will notify the user of that effect).

However, this does not apply to cases in which Our Company is not obligated to disclose the information or notify the purpose of use under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.

Please note that a handling fee (1,000 yen per request) will be charged for the disclosure of personal information or notification of the purpose of use. Please note that a customer is responsible for the cost of wire transfer, remittance, etc. In addition, Our Company may calculate a handling fee based on the required amount of work if a large amount of work is required due to the contents of the request. In such cases, Our Company will estimate the fee and inform you in advance.

8. Correction and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

(1) If Our Company is requested by a user to correct, add, or delete personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act base on a reason that the content of the personal information is not true, Our Company will, after confirming that the request is made by the user himself/herself, conduct necessary investigation without delay and, based on its results, correct or suspend the use of personal information, and notify the user of that effect. If Our Company decides not to correct or suspend the use of personal information, Our Company will notify the user of that effect.
(2) If Our Company is requested by a user to suspend or delete the use of personal information (hereinafter referred to as “the Suspension of Use, etc.”) in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, Our Company will, after confirming that the request is made by the user himself/herself, conduct necessary investigation without delay and, based on its results, implement the Suspension of Use, etc. of personal information., and notify the user of that effect.
(3) The provisions of 8-(1) and 8-(2) do not apply to cases in which Our Company is not obligated to implement correction, addition, deletion, the Suspension of Use, etc. of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.
